Frontline professionals face unique challenges in their day-to-day work. From caring for patients in high-pressure medical settings to responding to emergencies in the community, healthcare and public safety professionals often carry significant stress, exposure to trauma, long shifts, and emotional fatigue.
Over time, chronic stress, cumulative trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout can take a serious toll on mental wellness. If you are struggling, you are not alone.
NAMI Hennepin County is committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of frontline professionals. In addition to education and community-based support, we aim to create opportunities for frontline workers to connect with peers who understand the unique realities of these roles.
NAMI Hennepin County is launching a virtual peer support group for healthcare professionals across Minnesota. This group is open to all healthcare workers, including nurses, physicians, EMS personnel, paramedics, social workers, therapists, emergency department staff, technicians, and other frontline medical professionals. The group is designed to provide a supportive space to connect with peers, process the emotional demands of healthcare work, reduce isolation, and build resilience alongside others who understand the unique challenges of working on the frontlines.
Meetings are held virtually via Zoom on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:00–8:00 PM. Please click on this link to register to join our first meeting on June 9th.
